Jennifer Garner is a West Virginia native, born in Houston on the 17th April in 1972. William John Garner was her father, and was a chemical engineer company called Union Carbide. Patricia Ann Garner taught in a college near her. The father of her was an engineer in the chemical industry, and she aspired to become as skilled as him. She moved to New York in order to pursue her dream of becoming an actor. In her Broadway performances were followed by work at a local establishment. She was in an appearance on the tv show "Felicity." It was here that she became acquainted with Scott Foley, her first husband. Garner got her first big performance with "13 Goin' on 30" which was a romantic comedy well-received. She was a teen woman trapped in the adult body. Garner decided to choose Gary Winick to direct the film; they kept looking for new projects until Winick's passing away in the year 2011. In 2009, Garner was named an artist ambassador for Save the Children U.S.A. This position focuses on encouraging nutrition and literacy across America and early elementary education. Garner has been a member of the board for this nonprofit organization from 2014. She is a proponent of early childhood education. As an ambassador she visits frequently with families that are part of Early Steps to School Success, a program that coaches parents in how to assist young children to learn.
